Suspended Particles Matter( SPM) which is defined as particles less that 100 microns & Respirable Suspended Particle less than 10 microns have emerged as the most critical among all the criteria air pollutants & is caused by number of sources like Large, medium & small-scale industries, Road dust construction activities, house hold fuel cooking, waste burning, vehicular emissions etc.
In order to control the pollution, it is necessary to periodically monitor the air to determine the extent of pollution and to identify the source of emission SLE-RDS103 is designed to meet these needs. This model confirms to guidelines of Central Pollution Control Board.

PRINCIPLES
Suspended Particles in the air are sampled at constant rate of 0.9 to 1.3 m3 /min through the inlet of cyclone. By virtue of their momentum, particles greater than 10 microns are carried vertically upwards by the air flow and collected on a filter paper of 8 x 10 inch.

Principle
Suspended Particles in the air are sampled at 3 constant sampling rates of 0.9 to 1.4 m /min through the inlet of cyclone. By virtue of their momentum, particle greater than 10 microns are carried vertically upward by the air flow and collected on a filter paper of 8 x 10 inch. While coarse dust is collected in a cup placed under the cyclone.
